Amends section 346-229 of Hawaii Revised Statutes to expand Department of Human Services employees' authority to enter premises without a warrant during adult protective services investigations.

Changes the threshold for warrantless entry from cases where a vulnerable adult "will be physically injured through abuse" to cases involving "imminent abuse as defined in section 346-222."

Broadens investigative authority to cover all forms of abuse including psychological abuse, sexual abuse, financial exploitation, caregiver neglect, and self-neglect, not limited to physical injury cases.

Allows department employees investigating any type of abuse to request police assistance to gain entrance to premises where a vulnerable adult may be found.

Takes effect May 6, 2137.
