Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 26-31 to require deputy directors and deputy chairs of principal state departments to be subject to Senate advice and consent for their appointments.

Deputy directors and deputy chairs must be nominated and appointed by the governor, the single executive of a principal department, or the chair of the board, commission, or other body, with Senate approval required.

Currently, only principal department heads require Senate confirmation; this bill extends that requirement to deputy-level positions.

Takes effect upon approval.
