Grants exclusive original jurisdiction in divorce matters to the family court of the circuit in which the applicant is domiciled at the time the application is filed.

Repeals the requirement that a person must be domiciled or physically present in Hawaii for a continuous period of at least six months before applying for a divorce.

Maintains the three-month continuous domicile or physical presence requirement for annulment and separation proceedings.

Applies jurisdiction rules equally to civil unions as to marriages.

Effective date: January 1, 2022.
