Department of Agriculture and Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism are requested to develop a proposed plan to build a state hemp processing plant.

The plan should include proposed legislation and be submitted as a joint report to the Legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the Regular Session of 2022.

Resolution recognizes commercial hemp as having potential to revitalize Hawaii's agricultural industry and states hemp processing should be conducted independently within the state.

Certified copies of the concurrent resolution are to be transmitted to the Chairperson of the Board of Agriculture and Director of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism.
