S.C.R. No. 174 Summary

• Requests the Department of Transportation to involve government and stakeholders at all levels in a comprehensive and cooperative process to develop an updated statewide transportation plan

• Requires the updated plan to provide an overarching policy framework and statewide transportation priorities that inform modal plans and transportation plans developed by the Oahu and Maui Metropolitan Planning Organizations and county governments

• Directs the plan to incorporate research, policies, and strategies from existing Department of Transportation modal plans and incorporate statewide transportation goals, objectives, implementation strategies, and recommendations

• Requests the Department of Transportation recommend progress indicators to ensure efficient and cost-effective implementation of the statewide transportation plan

• Requires certified copies of the resolution be transmitted to the Governor, Attorney General, Director of Transportation, and the respective Mayors of Honolulu, Hawaii, Kauai, and Maui counties
