Request the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs to convene a task force to determine why condominium unit owners are not recognized as stakeholders by the Real Estate Commission and to recommend legislation and regulations to increase their participation.

Task force membership includes the Real Estate Commission Chairperson (or designee) as chairperson, a representative from a condominium unit owner advocacy organization, one Senate member appointed by the Senate President, and one House member appointed by the Speaker of the House.

Initial task force meeting must occur no later than July 1, 2021, with a final report to the Legislature due no later than twenty days before the 2022 Regular Session convenes.

Task force will dissolve on June 30, 2022, and address condominium unit owners' lack of direct access to Real Estate Commission public commissioners and their exclusion from stakeholder recognition despite contributing financially to the condominium management education fund.
