Request the Hawaii State Commission on the Status of Women to convene a task force to study missing and murdered Native Hawaiian women and girls.

Task force to be co-chaired by the Executive Director of the Hawaii State Commission on the Status of Women and the Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, with membership including state agency directors, county officials, and police chiefs.

Task force to include representatives from six community organizations: Papa Ola Lokahi, the Sex Abuse Treatment Center, Hale Kipa, Residential Youth Services and Empowerment, Susannah Wesley Community Center, and Hōkila Nā Pua.

Task force study to identify causes of the problem, current databases and data collection methods, barriers to data sharing, partnerships to increase reporting, and recommend legislation to improve data collection.

Task force to submit preliminary report to the Legislature no later than forty days before the 2023 Regular Session and a final report no later than forty days before the 2024 Regular Session.
