Requests Hawaii Technology Development Corporation and Leeward Community College to study feasibility of establishing technology academy programs at Aiea High School and Pearl City High School, administered by Leeward Community College in partnership with the Department of Education.

Technology academy programs should motivate students in science, technology, and engineering fields and provide contextual learning in areas including alternative energy, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud computing, blockchain, and various programming languages.

Programs should offer early college credits acceptable at colleges and universities in the United States, including the University of Hawaii system.

Report with findings and recommendations must be submitted to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2022 Regular Session and address admissions processes, curriculum, estimated costs, personnel needs, and credit transfer structures.

Directs transmission of resolution copies to relevant state officials including the Director of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism; Executive Director of Hawaii Technology Development Corporation; and Superintendent of Education.
