Request the Office of Planning to quantify land requirements needed to achieve 100% renewable energy by 2045 (per Hawaii Clean Energy Initiative) and to double food production by 2030 (per Governor Ige's 2016 commitment).

Require the Office of Planning to provide estimated land requirements for renewable energy and food sustainability goals for each county in consultation with the State Energy Office, Land Use Commission, county planning departments, and electric utility companies.

Address concern that renewable energy projects have been sited on agricultural lands while food production has decreased since 2018, and that significant agricultural lands may be unsuitable for farming but suitable for renewable energy projects.

Direct the Office of Planning to submit report findings and recommendations to the Legislature no later than 20 days before the convening of the Regular Session of 2022.

Transmit certified copies of the resolution to the Office of Planning, State Energy Office, Land Use Commission, Public Utilities Commission, all county planning departments, and electric utility companies operating in Hawaii.
