S.R. No. 193 Summary

• Requests the Department of Agriculture to update lease agreements for lands used under Act 90, Session Laws of Hawaii 2003, which transferred agricultural land management from the Department of Land and Natural Resources to the Department of Agriculture.

• Requests the Department of Agriculture, Board of Agriculture, and Board of Land and Natural Resources to hold a public hearing to review and update leases related to management of existing non-agricultural park lands pursuant to Act 90.

• Requires the Department of Agriculture to submit a report no later than twenty days before the 2022 Regular Session convening detailing the status of entering into updated lease agreements with the Department of Land and Natural Resources.

• Requires a joint report from the Department of Agriculture and Department of Land and Natural Resources detailing: all lands transferred pursuant to Act 90; all lands not yet transferred and explanations why; and proposed legislation if necessary.

• Directs transmission of certified copies of the resolution to the Chairperson of the Board of Agriculture and Chairperson of the Board of Land and Natural Resources.
