Convenes a creative resurgence task force to build and foster creativity and innovation through arts, culture, and humanities in Hawaii, addressing COVID-19 pandemic impacts on creative industries and arts education.

Task force directed to examine measures protecting tax-exempt status of creative nonprofits, supporting charitable giving tax policies, repealing monetary caps on charitable donation deductions, increasing public access to arts and humanities, and advancing the creative economy.

Task force membership includes directors of Business/Economic Development/Tourism, Labor and Industrial Relations, and Taxation; faculty representatives from University of Hawaii colleges; and executives from Hawaii arts and cultural organizations.

Task force authorized to elect a chair and vice chair, invite additional participants, and submit findings and legislative recommendations to the Legislature no later than 20 days before the 2022 Regular Session.

Task force scheduled to dissolve on June 30, 2022.
