• Establishes a remote work transition grant program within the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism (DBEDT) to assist businesses in converting to virtual offices or building remote work capabilities.

• Grants may cover business technology equipment, home office equipment, and partial residential utility costs associated with remote work transitions.

• Grant preference given to businesses demonstrating substantial year-over-year revenue reduction, small business status, or significant reduction in office occupancy or employee commuting miles.

• Awardees must annually certify proper use of grant funds; those failing to comply or misusing funds become liable to the State for unauthorized amounts.

• Appropriates $1,000,000 for fiscal year 2021-2022 and $1,000,000 for fiscal year 2022-2023 to implement the grant program; effective July 1, 2021.
