• Requires owners or operators of underground storage tanks to have inspections performed at least every [specified number of years - blank in bill] beginning January 1, 2022, to verify compliance with release detection standards and environmental protection requirements.

• Inspections must be conducted by qualified inspectors and include examination of equipment, procedures, operations, maintenance, and recordkeeping, with results reported to the department within 30 days or by September 30, whichever is earlier.

• Tanks found non-compliant must be reported to the department within 10 days; the department shall issue an order prohibiting new deliveries of regulated substances and must revoke the permit within 60 days unless repairs are completed or a temporary deferral is granted.

• Non-compliant tanks must be taken out of service within 90 days unless the department grants a temporary deferral; owners may request deferral by submitting written repair requests with detailed information and repair schedules.

• Permanently out-of-service tanks are exempt from inspection requirements, and owners must maintain inspection records for as long as the tank stores regulated substances.
