HB 142 Summary

• Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 11-333 to allow candidate committees to reimburse other individuals (in addition to candidates) for expenditures those individuals have advanced.

• Changes Section 11-333(b)(3) to specify that committee reimbursements to candidates or other individuals must be itemized to show the ultimate recipient and purpose of the expenditure.

• Removes "candidate reimbursements" from the itemization requirements in Section 11-335(b)(3) for noncandidate committees, since noncandidate committees are prohibited from receiving or making loans under existing law.

• Takes effect on July 1, 2112.
