• Appropriates general revenues to the Department of Land and Natural Resources for the Kahoolawe Island Reserve Commission to support restoration, preservation, and management of the Kahoolawe Island Reserve for fiscal year 2022-2023.

• Appropriates funds to establish two full-time equivalent (2.00 FTE) permanent positions for the Kahoolawe Island Reserve Commission in the natural and physical environment budget category (LNR906).

• Addresses funding gaps created by depletion of the federal trust fund established in 1994 for unexploded ordnance cleanup, which was projected to be depleted by 2016.

• Supports operations, safety, infrastructure, and restoration efforts on Kahoolawe Island, including critical specialist positions for on-island field work and vessel operations.

• Effective date of July 1, 2022.
