Adds new section to Chapter 846, Hawaii Revised Statutes requiring sexual orientation and gender identity information to be included in systems of identification for persons processed for crimes, beginning January 1, 2023, if such information is disclosed.

Requires that sexual orientation and gender identity information collected remain confidential and be used strictly for statistical research and data analysis purposes as authorized under existing law.

Defines "gender identity" as an individual's sense of being male, female, transgender, or another gender, distinct from sex assigned at birth.

Defines "sexual orientation" as how a person identifies regarding emotional, romantic, or sexual attractions, including identification as straight, heterosexual, gay, lesbian, bisexual, or other terms.

Effective date: July 1, 3000 (appears to be a drafting error).
