H.B. 1763 - Minimum Wage Commission

• Establishes a minimum wage commission within the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations for administrative purposes.

• Commission membership includes the labor director or designee, human services director or designee, two governor appointees, two senate president appointees, two house speaker appointees, and three additional governor appointees from relevant organizations.

• Commission shall review and recommend appropriate minimum wage adjustments annually, with recommendations due before the 20th legislative day of the regular session starting in 2023.

• Recommended minimum wage increases become effective on the recommended date unless the legislature disapproves by concurrent resolution before the legislative session ends.

• Appropriates funds from general revenues for fiscal year 2022-2023 to administer the commission, effective July 1, 2022.
