HI HB1808

Increases the percentage of geothermal resource royalties paid to counties from 30 percent to 60 percent of all royalties received by the State.

Requires counties receiving geothermal royalties to use the funds specifically for further geothermal resources discovery and development.

Mandates counties to submit an annual report to the legislature no later than twenty days prior to each regular session detailing how distributed royalties were used.

Maintains the existing provision that 100 percent of royalties from geothermal resources on Department of Hawaiian Home Lands property shall be paid to that department.

Effective date of July 1, 2100.
