H.B. 260 Summary

• Authorizes counties to reclassify 50 acres in rural, urban, and agricultural districts if 50% of housing units are set aside for households with incomes at or below 140% of area median income.

• Authorizes counties to reclassify 75 acres in rural, urban, and agricultural districts if 100% of housing units are set aside for households with incomes at or below 140% of area median income.

• Establishes civil penalties up to $50,000 per day for violations of land use commission district boundary amendment conditions, orders, or representations.

• Prohibits parceling of lands reclassified under this act, defined as subdivision into two or more parcels with multiple parcels proposed for reclassification within a ten-year period.

• Becomes effective July 1, 2050.
