• Requires employers with five or more employees to provide a minimum 30-minute meal break for employees working eight or more consecutive hours continuously.

• Requires employers with five or more employees to provide a 20-minute rest break for employees working six to eight hours on a shift.

• Establishes paid sick leave requirements allowing employees to accrue a minimum of one hour per 40 hours worked (maximum 56 hours per calendar year) for illness, medical care, family care, or public health emergencies.

• Employees become eligible to use accrued paid sick leave after 750 hours of employment and must work more than 680 hours per year to qualify for paid sick leave benefits.

• Effective date is July 1, 2021, with delayed implementation for employees covered by collective bargaining agreements until contract termination, renewal, or amendment.
