Expands justified use of force in self-protection to include defending oneself, one's property, or another person against unlawful force, replacing previous language limited to protecting oneself.

Broadens justifiable deadly force to include defense of legally occupied dwellings or motor vehicles, and defense of persons attempting to enter such properties for assault purposes.

Establishes "Stand Your Ground" protections eliminating duty to retreat when actor is lawfully occupying premises and not engaged in unlawful activity.

Provides criminal and civil immunity from prosecution for use of justified force under the statute, unless the force is determined to be unlawful.

Simplifies restrictions on force use, removing prior detailed exceptions related to arrests and property protection disputes, and replaces with single exception preventing force against law enforcement officers performing official duties.
