H.B. 731 Summary

• Requires the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations to develop and disseminate seizure first aid information to employers, employees, and the general public through exhibitions, broadcasts, lectures, posters, flyers, pamphlets, or other methods.

• Mandates all employers post seizure first aid information provided by the department in a prominent position in the workplace.

• Defines "seizure first aid" as procedures to respond, attend, and provide comfort and safety to a person suffering from a primary generalized tonic-clonic seizure or complex partial seizure, excluding medical treatment.

• Authorizes the department to adopt rules under Chapter 91 to implement the seizure first aid requirements.

• Takes effect on July 1, 2021.
