Appropriates $1,500,000 from general revenues to the stadium special fund for fiscal year 2020-2021 to address Aloha Stadium's cash shortfall caused by COVID-19 closures.

Funds are designated for payroll, operating expenses, maintenance costs, and repairs necessary to maintain the facility in safe condition for the public.

The Aloha Stadium projected exhaustion of its cash balance by June 30, 2021, after closure of public gathering places eliminated event and swap meet revenues.

The Stadium Authority had already furloughed hourly workers and reduced contracts to address the anticipated shortfall before receiving this emergency appropriation.

Takes effect upon approval and is recommended by the governor for immediate passage under Article VII, Section 9 of the Hawaii Constitution.
