Repeals Chapter 322H of the Hawaii Revised Statutes, abolishing the Hawaii Health Authority that was established by Act 11, Special Session Laws of Hawaii 2009.

The Hawaii Health Authority was originally responsible for overall health planning and developing a comprehensive plan to provide universal health care in Hawaii.

Legislature finds that health planning functions are now also conducted by the state health planning and development agency and the health care innovation office.

Abolition is intended to streamline health planning and policy management as the private healthcare sector continues to evolve with federal policy changes, new business models, and technologies.

Takes effect upon approval.
