Requests the Governor and Mayor of Honolulu to affirm that the Safe Access Oahu program will not be unnecessarily extended beyond its March 5, 2022 sunset date.

Safe Access Oahu program, implemented September 13, 2021, required employees and customers at restaurants, bars, gyms, and similar establishments to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or negative test results.

Program was originally set to expire November 13, 2021 but was extended through January 5, 2022 via emergency order in response to the Omicron variant surge.

Cites concern that repeated extensions and retroactive applications created confusion and placed undue burdens on small businesses, which were already severely impacted by the pandemic.

Directs that certified copies of the resolution be transmitted to the Governor and Mayor of Honolulu.
