Requests the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts submit a report on Works of Art Special Fund expenditures for Native Hawaiian art by twenty days prior to the 2023 Regular Session convening.

Report must include total funding spent on Native Hawaiian art curation, number of Native Hawaiian art pieces acquired, percentage of all collected works that are Native Hawaiian art, cost per Native Hawaiian piece, and percentage of total acquisition costs attributed to Native Hawaiian art.

Defines Native Hawaiian art as art produced by individuals of Native Hawaiian descent.

Notes Foundation's 2019-2023 Strategic Priorities dedicates only one of twelve objectives to Native Hawaiians and lacks language addressing perpetuation of traditional practices, artist self-determination, and protection against cultural misappropriation.

Emphasizes that performing arts like hālau hula, oli, and mele are not currently supported through the Works of Art Special Fund despite their importance to Native Hawaiian cultural practices.
