Request the Board of Education and Department of Education to establish one full-time equivalent (1.00 FTE) position of administrative vice principal dean of students for the Lahainaluna High School Boarding Program

Direct the Board of Education and Department of Education to include funding for this position in their budget requests to the Legislature

Assign the administrative vice principal dean of students responsibilities including running and staffing the Boarding Program, increasing student recruitment, establishing student programs and vocational opportunities, and implementing recommendations from the October 2015 Lahainaluna Boarding Program Working Group report

Recognize that the Lahainaluna High School Boarding Program, founded in 1836, serves approximately 1,000 students and welcomes students from across Hawaii and internationally, requiring specialized management expertise beyond traditional principal training
