Request Department of Transportation to adopt or amend administrative rules prohibiting installation or deployment of 5G wireless facilities near state airports and navigational equipment.

Direct DOT to work with Air Line Pilots Association, International to determine the appropriate radius around state airports or navigational equipment where 5G facilities should be prohibited.

Identify concern that 5G technology in the United States uses C-Band radio spectrum (3.7-3.98 Gigahertz), which is too close to the 4.2-4.4 Gigahertz spectrum used by radar altimeters that provide critical pilot altitude information.

Recognize Hawaii's critical dependence on air travel for the visitor industry, inter-island transportation of goods and services, and medical care in the multi-island state.

Transmit certified copies of the resolution to the Director of Transportation and President of Air Line Pilots Association, International.
