Requests the Department of Education implement sensory rooms for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder in all Hawaii public schools.

Sensory rooms are therapeutic spaces with equipment providing personalized sensory input to help students with special needs calm, focus, and prepare for learning.

As of December 2019, 2,088 Hawaii public school students were eligible for services under the autism spectrum disorder category.

Prioritizes implementation in non-Oahu elementary, middle, and high schools without special education classes first, followed by remaining schools statewide.

Requires transmitting certified copies to the Board of Education Chairperson and Interim Superintendent of Education.
