Hawaii State Energy Office is requested to engage the U.S. Department of Energy to establish a permanent presence within the State of Hawaii.

Governor, Director of Business, Economic Development and Tourism, and all state departments with energy-related duties are requested to support the Chief Energy Officer in this effort.

Hawaii State Energy Office must submit a report to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2023 Regular Session convening on engagement status and terms of any proposed agreement.

Certified copies must be transmitted to the U.S. Secretary of Energy, Hawaii congressional delegation, Governor, Chief Energy Officer, and DBEDT Director.
