Request the Hawaii Sister-State Committee to evaluate and develop recommendations for establishing a sister-state relationship between Hawaii and the Auckland Region, New Zealand.

Require the Hawaii Sister-State Committee to report its findings and recommendations to the Legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the Regular Session of 2023, including any proposed legislation.

Cite shared cultural and language similarities between Hawaii and New Zealand's indigenous Polynesian peoples, and note that New Zealand ranks among the top twenty countries for education quality by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.

Identify potential benefits of a sister-state relationship including expansion of Hawaii's film industry, enhancement of educational opportunities, environmental goal development, and diversification of exportable commodities.

Transmit certified copies of the resolution to the Director of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism and the Chairperson of the Hawaii Sister-State Committee.
