Request the Auditor to conduct a performance audit of the Driver Education Program administered jointly by the Departments of Transportation and Education

Examine program administration, policies, and procedures, including the backlog of driver education opportunities and whether activities are being conducted effectively, efficiently, economically, ethically, and equitably

Address issues stemming from COVID-19 pandemic suspensions that limited class availability, particularly for neighbor island residents, and pre-existing lack of driver instructors and classroom options

Require the Auditor to submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than 20 days before the Regular Session of 2023

Direct that certified copies of the resolution be transmitted to the Governor, Director of Transportation, Board of Education Chairperson, Superintendent of Education, and Auditor
