University of Hawaii is requested to work with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and Department of Education to create a Coral Reef Advisory Team of Youth.

The advisory team is requested to engage students in learning about coral reef science, background, and methods for saving and preserving coral reefs.

University of Hawaii is requested to consider using the Partnerships for Reform through Investigative Science and Math Program's coral reef curricula.

Hawaii contains approximately 85 percent of all coral reefs in the United States, with the Papahānaumokuākea National Marine Monument supporting over 7,000 species.

Certified copies of the resolution shall be transmitted to NOAA's Office of Education Director, University of Hawaii President, and Superintendent of Education.
