Requires the office of enterprise technology services to establish policies in collaboration with departments and agencies to provide infrastructure and resources for authorized state employees to securely access remote computing services.

Adds a new duty to the chief information officer's responsibilities under Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 27-43 to support remote teleworking capabilities.

Recognizes that remote work has demonstrated cost-effectiveness and productivity during the COVID-19 pandemic and can continue as an option for employees whose duties can be performed outside traditional work environments.

Aims to enable better use of state resources including office space, equipment, and facilities while accommodating employee needs such as childcare and elder care responsibilities.

Takes effect upon approval.
