• Repeals the December 31, 2021 deadline for the law enforcement standards board to finalize standards and certification processes, allowing extended time for completion.

• Adds authority for the board to conduct studies evaluating uniform standards, certification, and training impacts on existing legal obligations, including collective bargaining agreements.

• Appropriates funds for fiscal year 2022-2023 to support one full-time administrator position (exempt from civil service) and one clerical position, plus operational costs for the board.

• Delays certification requirement implementation to July 1, 2024 for new law enforcement officer appointments and exempts probationary employees and those hired before that date.
