Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 26-6(b) to add a new requirement that the Department of Accounting and General Services ensure state facilities under its responsibility are maintained in accordance with proper repair, maintenance, and sanitation standards.

Requires the department to establish and communicate sanitation procedures for the health and safety of tenants and visitors to state facilities.

Encourages other state departments to adhere to the sanitation and maintenance policies adopted by the Department of Accounting and General Services.

Renumbers existing departmental duties from items (7) through (11) to items (8) through (12) to accommodate the new facility maintenance requirement as item (7).

Takes effect upon approval.
