SB 2125 Summary

• Increases the maximum allowable fine for violations of liquor control laws by licensees from $2,000 to $5,000 under Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 281-91

• Applies to violations enforced by county liquor commissions or liquor control adjudication boards, including sales to minors, sales to intoxicated persons, and excessive noise from licensed establishments

• Maintains existing provisions that licensees cannot be subject to both a penalty fine and license revocation or suspension for the same offense

• Effective upon approval with no retroactive application to rights, duties, penalties, or proceedings that began before the law takes effect
