Changes the title "school health aides" to "school health assistants" in Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 302A-853.

Adds advanced practice registered nurses with prescriptive authority (pursuant to section 457-8.6) to the list of professionals authorized to prescribe medication that school health assistants may administer to students.

Expands medication administration approval authority to include "other complex area or school-based health care provider" in addition to the Department of Health, provided there is a written agreement with the Department of Education.

Maintains existing requirements that parent/guardian authorization, physician or practitioner prescription, and medical necessity for school attendance are all required before medication administration.

Takes effect upon approval.
