Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 431M-4(b) to require health insurance coverage for mental health diagnosis and treatment to include one annual mental health screening.

Mental health screening coverage is added as part of the diagnosis benefit for mental disorders under mental illness insurance benefits.

All mental health services must continue to be provided under an individualized treatment plan approved by a qualified healthcare provider and must be reasonably expected to improve the patient's condition.

The Act takes effect on January 1, 2023.
