S.B. 25 - Medical Care for Minors

• Permits minors to consent to medical care related to HIV diagnosis, treatment, or prevention without parental/guardian consent.

• Minors who consent to HIV-related medical care shall not be liable for payment costs.

• Authorizes physician assistants and advanced practice registered nurses, in addition to physicians, to provide medical care and services to minors.

• Replaces outdated term "venereal diseases" with "sexually transmitted infection" throughout Chapter 577A, Hawaii Revised Statutes.

• Takes effect May 6, 2137.
