HI SB2741

Establishes the Hawaii Commission to Promote Uniform Legislation as an independent body placed within the Department of the Attorney General for administrative purposes, composed of five commissioners appointed by the governor.

Exempts all commission members from limitations on attendance at meetings hosted by the Uniform Law Commission (National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws), allowing unlimited participation regardless of meeting location or format.

Exempts Uniform Law Commission meetings attended by commissioners from Hawaii's sunshine law requirements (sections 92-3, 92-7, and 92-9), while requiring commissioners to report on attendance and relevant matters at the next regularly scheduled commission meeting.

Prohibits commissioners from voting on which uniform legislation should be proposed or recommended to the Hawaii legislature while attending Uniform Law Commission meetings hosted outside Hawaii.

Takes effect upon approval.
