HI SB2822

Authorizes the Department of Education to offer optional asthma self-management instruction to students with age-appropriate curriculum covering asthma facts, physiology, early warning signs, symptoms, triggers, and self-management skills.

Allows the Department of Education to develop and provide asthma training to teachers and other department employees who interact with students, including recognizing asthma symptoms and asthma management.

Permits parents, guardians, and other department employees to attend asthma training at no cost.

Authorizes the Department of Education to coordinate with public or private entities and use existing educational resources when developing instruction and training programs.

Effective July 1, 2022.
