• Adds gender identity information to Hawaii's systems of identification for persons processed for crimes, effective January 1, 2023
• Requires data center to collect and record five gender identity designations: Male, Female, Transgender women/female, Transgender man/male, and Non-binary
• Mandates collected gender identity information remain confidential and be used exclusively for statistical research and data analysis purposes
• Defines "gender identity" as an individual's sense of being male, female, transgender, or another gender, distinct from sex assigned at birth
