S.B. 3113 Summary

• Incorporates the kupuna caregivers program into the kupuna care program by amending Part II of Chapter 349, Hawaii Revised Statutes

• Adds four new definitions: "caregiver," "caregiver support services," "employed caregiver" (working at least 20 hours per week), and "financial management service provider"

• Expands kupuna care services to include support for employed caregivers with adult day care, respite care, and caregiver support services in addition to existing care recipient services

• Modifies eligibility to include caregivers and employed caregivers, with qualifying criteria for employed caregivers reduced from 30 hours to 20 hours per week

• Repeals the separate kupuna caregivers program (Section 349-18) and requires the executive office on aging to submit annual reports on program participation and waitlists to the legislature
