S.B. 3377 Summary

• Prohibits commercial vendors from presetting commercial beach equipment (chairs, umbrellas, surfboards, paddleboards, kayaks, and other non-motorized watercraft) on public beaches under the Department of Land and Natural Resources jurisdiction unless the customer is physically present for immediate use

• Requires commercial vendors to expeditiously remove commercial beach equipment after customers finish using it

• Establishes administrative fines of $50 to $1,000 for each violation of the presetting prohibition

• Authorizes the Department of Land and Natural Resources to grant exemptions through administrative rules adopted under chapter 91

• Applies only to public beaches and excludes beaches on private land such as accreted lands; effective July 1, 2050
