SB406 Summary

• Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 11-314 to clarify that the Campaign Spending Commission may employ or contract with persons for day-to-day functions without regard to civil service chapters 76, 78, and 89.

• Grants commission staff the authority to perform day-to-day functions of the commission without requiring further action or approval from the commission itself.

• Amends Section 11-402 to require that complaints initiated by commission staff must be in writing and signed by the executive director.

• Takes effect July 1, 2112.
