SB 410 Summary

• Adds Section 709-906(8) and (9) (abuse of a family or household member) to the list of felonies qualifying for repeat offender mandatory minimum sentencing under Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 706-606.5

• Applies to offenders convicted of this abuse felony who have prior convictions for murder, class A or B felonies, enumerated class C felonies, or any felony from another jurisdiction

• Requires mandatory minimum imprisonment without possibility of parole for repeat offenders meeting the specified prior conviction criteria

• Takes effect on July 1, 2060
