HI SB797

Grants the chief information officer authority to approve or expedite approval of state agency management information system projects budgeted at $1,000,000 or more, or any other project the CIO deems necessary to expedite.

Requires the CIO to coordinate and focus appropriate state personnel and resources to facilitate project approval processes.

Mandates the CIO to submit annual reports to the governor and legislature on the status of all pending and completed projects over $1,000,000, including whether projects are on time and on budget.

Adds these new duties to the existing responsibilities of the chief information officer within the Office of Enterprise Technology Services, which remains within the Department of Accounting and General Services.
