Request University of Hawaii to report on Pamantasan Council's systemwide efforts to improve the status of Filipinos at the university.

Report must include information on the 2019 appropriation (Act 266, Session Laws of Hawaii 2019 for 2.0 FTE positions), resource and budgetary needs, curriculum development recommendations, and representation and success of students, faculty, and staff.

Currently approved funds are being used temporarily to support a University of Hawaii Maui College lecturer teaching distance education Ilokano courses and for development of a community college-level certificate in Filipino Studies.

University of Hawaii must submit report findings and recommendations, including any proposed legislation, to the Legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the Regular Session of 2023.

COVID-19 pandemic and resulting budget restrictions prevented the hiring of the two approved positions for the Pamantasan Council.
