Urges the City and County of Honolulu to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the Lanikai Bikeway, which officially opened on July 1, 1972.

Recognizes Ted Rodgers and Cynthia Thielen for leading efforts to establish the bikeway following a near-fatal bicycle incident involving student Linda Bell.

Acknowledges that a community survey found approximately 600 bicycles in use in Lanikai, with most riders being children, and a petition of 262 families supported the bikeway project.

Notes the Lanikai Bikeway was the first one-way traffic loop and dedicated bikeway configuration of its kind on the island of Oahu, with expansion built in 1995.

Requires certified copies of the resolution to be transmitted to the Mayor of Honolulu, Chair of the Honolulu City Council, and President of the Lanikai Association.
